Why does knowing my DNA affect my future ?
Understanding your DNA provides valuable insights into your health and well-being. Your genetic makeup establishes a foundation of strengths and weaknesses that influence your health and personality. Decoding your genetics allows you to identify key genetic factors that can impact your health. While genetics is just one piece of the puzzle, it interacts with other factors such as diet, lifestyle, and current health conditions to determine your overall predisposition to certain health conditions or traits. By understanding your genetic predispositions, you can optimise your health and mitigate potential risks. Our goal is to provide personalised options tailored to your unique genetics and circumstances, helping you become the best version of yourself. Our comprehensive health reports cover major topics such as Brain Health and Gut Health, (plus too many more to mention here) offering detailed examinations of your genetics and providing specific recommendations and lifestyle factors to consider. Why is a Blood test beneficial to me?
A blood test is beneficial as it provides a snapshot of your current health status. While a DNA test reveals your genetic predispositions, a blood test shows where you stand today. It helps identify deficiencies in vital nutrients, organ health, and other key indicators. With this information, we can tailor interventions to address specific health needs and optimise your well-being. By monitoring your blood markers over time, we can track progress and make targeted adjustments to support your journey toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Primary Focus
Understand the power of choice, adapt your lifestyle today, and thrive in a healthier tomorrow.

Alzheimers

Heart Disease
Heart disease often strikes unexpectedly, robbing families of their loved ones in an instant. Don’t wait until it’s too late. While the myth persists that it’s solely caused by diet, the reality is more nuanced. By making informed choices today, you can take proactive steps to prevent heart disease and safeguard your future health.

Weight Loss
Excess weight, often dismissed as a part of ageing, poses significant risks to our health. The accumulation of internal fat over years puts strain on the heart and increases susceptibility to diseases, including cancer, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and overall decline in well-being. Losing weight requires concerted effort, but the benefits extend far beyond aesthetics, impacting our overall health and longevity.

Frequently Asked Questions
Learn How it Works!
I recently started a low calorie Diet anyway. How different is this??
Our programs are not about short-term fixes but long-term gain. While a low-calorie diet may help you lose unwanted fat, it is not beneficial in the long term; you will put the weight back on as soon as your body realises you are starving yourself, as it will find carbs and turn them into fat to protect you from the famine it thinks you are suffering from! We do not endorse low-calorie diets.
I have heard about drugs that prevent Alzheimers in the early stage
sYes, your GP may have mentioned drugs that can potentially slow down the progression of Alzheimer’s. However, our approach focuses on prevention rather than waiting for the onset of the disease. While drugs may offer some benefits, they also come with possible major side effects. In contrast, our program emphasizes proactive measures to reduce the likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s, with the only side effects being better health and vitality.
I have tried to make resolutions but always fail.
Our motto is ‘understand, adapt, thrive.’ Making changes can indeed be challenging, leading many to struggle with their resolutions or plans for a healthier life. Our approach focuses on working with you to understand why YOU need to make changes through motivational planning. Once you grasp how our program can best suit your needs, you can adapt your daily habits at a pace that suits you, enabling you to thrive. We achieve through gradual and meaningful change, coupled with education, enabling you to find it easier to create and stick to your new lifetime plan.
I never need a doctor, so why would I need your sevices?
A very good question. Why indeed? The simple answer is to keep you at a level of health so that you do not need to start visiting Doctors. By the time you see a Dr, for an ageing disease, the disease has grown roots and is with you, usually for life. Do not wait. Our plan is show you how to keep a level of health, as long as you can.
I have a good relationship with my GP. They say I am really fit and healthy for my age
It is all very well being fit and healthy “for your age” but you want to be as fit and healthy as someone younger than you. A fit and healthy 80 year old “for their age” is still unfit. However, an 80 year old who is as fit and healthy as a fit 60 year old, that is where you will want to be at 80. To get there, you will need to be as young as you can at all ages beyond 40
My GP says there’s nothing we can do for Alzheimer’s until a new drug comes out in a few years. How can you offer something different??
Your GP is correct based on their training, which focuses on drugs and surgery as informed by NICE. However, at Healthy Ageing Academy, we take a global approach. In the US, where insurance companies emphasize prevention to avoid costly hospital stays, there are documented cases of patients reversing early-onset Alzheimer’s through specific protocols. We learn from the Doctors helping their clients, and leverage these international insights to offer proactive strategies that go beyond what is commonly practiced in the UK.
I have been on a weight loss plan that worked for my friend. What extra do you offer??
Following a diet is a great start, but our program offers much more than dietary recommendations. While your current diet may work for some, it may not be tailored to your specific needs. Our program focuses on educating you about the optimal lifestyle choices for you. By understanding your unique genetic makeup and lifestyle factors, we can provide personalised guidance to help you achieve your health goals and maintain long-term wellness. Our goal is to empower you to make sustainable lifestyle changes that will benefit you for life
If my DNA or other results are bad, why would I want to know?
While some results may indicate areas of concern, our programs are designed to empower you to take control of your health destiny. Through personalised recommendations and the science of epigenetics, we show you how to make positive changes. By addressing potential risks and promoting healthy habits, our goal is to enhance your overall well-being and improve your quality of life. With our guidance, you have the opportunity to rewrite your health story and create a brighter, healthier future.
I had an ancestry test already and they gave me some health tips
If you’ve already undergone an ancestry test and received some health tips, we can enhance your assessment by running your DNA results through our comprehensive program. While other companies may only analyse a few SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) to provide basic health advice, our program examines a much broader range of genetic markers. This allows us to generate a far more comprehensive report covering numerous traits, diseases, and conditions relevant to your health. Feel free to request a sample report from us to compare the depth and breadth of our analysis.
Do you offer Ancestry results?
Yes, we do offer ancestry reports, and our calculations are based on a more comprehensive set of variables compared to other programs. However, please note that as our program is currently in Beta mode, we do not have the database capability to introduce you to potential relatives at this time. We recommend utilizing our services to enhance your life through improved health.
How long does it take to give me results from my DNA test?
Typically, it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to receive the results of your DNA test. However, there’s no need to worry as there are plenty of things you can learn and do in the meantime. The process involves using a sample of your saliva. We use this initial sample to grow more DNA in the lab, which is why it takes some time to provide you with your results.
You say evidence backed. How do I know what evidence you use?
When you receive a report based on your DNA, which analyzes an average of 100,000 SNPs per report (versus a maximum of 1,000 by other companies), we provide references and weight the recommendations based on supporting evidence. The company we partner with for DNA analysis currently draws from over 100,000 scientific papers, ensuring that our recommendations are firmly evidence-backed.
